Ever since I was six, perhaps seven years old, I began developing a deep love and fascination with trains when my grandparents got me my first train set. Since then, I have enjoyed railways of all sizes, having experienced both the building of scale models and the riding of trains of all sorts. But most interesting of all is the profound effect the development of railways, from their humble beginnings in the mines of West England to the sprawling networks of today.
